Synopsis

An estimated half a million people from the Yazidi minority group have been forced to leave their homes because of conflict in Iraq. This film features the stories of Jamila, a shop owner and Ismail, a musician who have tried to forge new lives in a camp for internally displaced people in Northern Iraq.

Director¡¯s notes

The way that some minorities are targetted by armed groups is an appalling breach of human rights and this is what has happened to people of the Yazidi faith and community. Persecuted for just being born into a community the Yazidi people have been forced to leave their homes and try to rebuild their lives. Both Jamila and Ismail demostrate how resilient one needs to be to reconstruct a life after being displaced.
